TDL Data Symposium

SAVE THE DATE! The Texas Digital Library will hold its first ever TDL Data Symposium, hosted by Baylor University Libraries on November 15th and 16th, 2016 in Waco, Texas.

This two-day event is designed to support the development of TDL member librarians who provide (or intend to provide) research data services on their campuses. It will include opportunities to gain knowledge and skills, network, and learn more about the Texas data repository to be launched this fall. Sessions and topics include:

  • Merce Crosas, the Chief Data Science and Technology Officer at the Institute for Quantitative Social Sciences (IQSS) at Harvard University
  • A Data Management 101 workshop on the basic concepts of data management for attendees new to these issues
  • Presentations and discussions on various topics, including data management planning curation of research data
  • A Dataverse training workshop, to familiarize librarians with the new TDL data repository that will launch this fall

Seating is limited, but we will ensure that every TDL member institution has a seat reserved. A small registration fee of $50 will be charged, and more information about the schedule and registration is coming soon.

Updates and details will be posted to the TDL website: https://tdl.org/tdl-data-symposium/
