Historical Sheet Music for Children

Thanks to our generous donors, there were some charming examples of historical sheet music that were added to the collection this week. ”The bold pirate,” “Brisk winds,” “Pecos Bill,” and “The runaway elephant” date to the late 40s and early 50s, and can be found on the shelves under M 1380, the Library of Congress classification for individual works of piano music for children. The Fine Arts Library also keeps a large amount of historical sheet music in its special collections that is available to consult by appointment.
