October 1 starts the beginning of the Hearts of Texas charitable campaign at the University of Texas. Here is the home page for the University’s website. Please click on the How to Pledge tab for online giving:
And here is Libraries’ HoT website from last year, with last years’ totals (soon to be updated for this year):
The Libraries will have several events throughout the month of October, starting with the first PCL Bake Sale on Wednesday, October 2, from 8-Noon on the PCL Plaza. Please drop off your baked goods at the tables on Wednesday morning, or stop by anytime to but something special!
The following Wednesday, October 9, will be the Fall Plant Sale, from 8-Noon on the PCL Plaza. Please remember, for Preservation purposes, that staff are encouraged to remain plant neutral at work, and should rotate one plant for another. If you buy a plant for your work area, then another existing plant should be removed to your home collection. If you need help or further information on the proper care of your plants at work, please contact Kat Strickland or Steve Stein…
There will be Bingo again this year, from 11-1pm on Friday. October 18, in the PCL Staff Lounge.
The second PCL Bake Sale will be Wednesday, October 23.
Benson Latin American Collection will host their Bake Sale on Tuesday, October 29, on the SRH Plaza from 9am-1pm.
We hope to work in a Jeopardy contest, and the month will end at the Halloween Party on October 31, from 1-3pm. Lunch will be served…
Please support the designated charities for each event with your purchases and participation.
