Nervous about the first few days of class? Worried you won’t know your way around campus or find your class locations? Don’t fret!
Libraries staff and student leaders from the Senate of College Councils and Student Government brave the August heat to host Find It @ UT Tables. Each table features helpful, smiling faces that can help you navigate this huge campus and provide you with other information you may need to start the school year.
The Tables staffed by the Libraries can be found at the following locations on the first two days of classes, Wednesday, August 29 and Thursday, August 30, from 7:30am-1:00pm at the locations on the map below:
-Outside PCL, on the southwest corner of 21st and Speedway
-On the West Mall outside the Union
-On the East Mall outside the Jackson Geological Sciences Building
-Near RLM at Speedway
Student volunteers will also be available throughout campus Wednesday and Thursday from 9am-2pm. Just look for students and staff in the bright green Find It @ UT t-shirts!
Check out the Longhorn Welcome site to find more back-to-school activities, including our big event with Student Government and the Student Events Center Film Committee, Make Some Noise: Dance Party @ the Libraries w/Free Film and LED Pin Maker Break Friday night!
Did someone say Back to School film screening and dance party? Join the UT Libraries, Student Government and the Student Events Center Film Committee on the PCL Plaza for a screening of Girl Walk // All Day, a film set to the sounds of Girl Talk. Bring a friend or make a new one and prepare yourself for a Friday night full of snacking, creating, and dancing! And yes, this is free!
Start the evening by making your very own wearable LED throwie pin, the perfect accessory for a nighttime dance party. DJs from KVRX will keep the party going after the film.
The party gets started at 8pm on Friday, August 31st on the PCL Plaza!
Here’s the Facebook event.
Coming out to the dance party Friday night? We’ll have a limited number of chairs on the plaza because we’re certain you’ll want to dance along to this movie. Consider bringing a blanket to sit on the plaza.
Check out the film trailer below for a sample of what you can expect!
