Using SciFinder Web and PubMed Basics

Learn about the new Web version of SciFinder (Chemical Abstracts). This part of the session will cover registering for your personal SciFinder login, features of the Web interface, and using your search results.

Learn PubMed Basics in this overview of the database. The 25-minute session will cover setting up a MyNCBI account, PubMed features, effective search techniques and using your search results.

Finding Funding and Patent Searching

The Finding Funding portion of the session is designed to help explain sources of funding and how to learn about funding opportunities.  Special emphasis will be on using the Community of Science for funding updates.

Did you ever want to know what has been previously patented?  The patent searching section of this presentation will show you how to begin a patent search by discussing the rules for what can and cannot be patented and why this impacts on searching, basic and advanced techniques for searching patents and ways to avoid “patent searching overload.”
